Jeunes têtes bien faites : Romain Trebuil, l'entrepreneur de haut niveau

Young minds well made: Romain Trebuil, the high-level entrepreneur

"Change the perspective, reconcile performance, design, and ecology with the same excellence"

It is on the other side of the planet, a surfboard under his arm, on a beautiful beach covered in plastic waste, that Romain Trebuil, founder of Yoss, a platform connecting freelancers and large companies, looked at the label of his shirt and became aware of the consequences of his choices. "All my sports outfits were made far away and from petroleum-derived synthetics." Three years and 2 million euros in fundraising later, the thirty-something is imposing his zero-oil running shoe, made from castor plant, his leggings and sweatshirts made from recycled and recyclable fibers, and his name Circle.

As a rallying sign for the circular economy and a nod to the Olympic rings. Behind its cool appearance, the company is committed to manufacturing in Europe and in low-carbon factories, and innovates in raw materials that respect life. "Running brands have only one word: performance. But what is the point of gaining a few seconds for 99.99% of runners? We want to change the perspective, reconcile performance, design, and ecology with the same level of excellence." Circle employs 14 people, works with top athletes, and uses pre-orders. Its goals attract collaborations with big names from MIT who share its vision of a post-oil industry. For Romain Trebuil, only the presence of large-scale eco-friendly sportswear will overturn the existing model.
