Each of our creations is unique and tells a bit of our imaginary world
Laëtitia Rouget and Colombine Jubert thought they had an elusive weapon to fight against the health crisis: dreams. And the ability to give them form. One is a ceramic artist, the other a designer, both graduates of Central Saint Martins School in London. After the lockdown, these thirty-somethings create Pangea, inspired by Pangaea, the supercontinent that once brought all the landmasses together.
At the crossroads of art, design, and performance, Laëtitia and Colombine use falsely naive symbolic patterns printed on textiles produced artisanally. "Let's Change the Game", "Hope Together", "You're Part of It"... their iconic flag-hangings, embroidered tablecloths, "Magical hats for magical people!" all carry a message in the form of a banner that blends with the organic shapes of animals, humans, or plants.
